Get in on the future of communications. Data travels from
one computer to another over computer networks like the
Internet by a method called Internet Protocol (IP). This
same protocol allows voice communications over IP (hence,
VoIP), bypassing traditional telephone service and realizing
substantial cost savings. VoIP technology converts analog
voice signals into digital data packets and supports
real-time two-way transmission of conversations. |

Voice over IP use TCP/IP to go from the origination across
the network to the destination. TCP/IP is an Internet
protocol with a leading IP packet to control communication
and the layload.
A major advantage of Voice over IP and Internet telephony is
that it avoids the tolls charged by ordinary telephone
service. At the same time, you can also exchange data with
people you are talking with, sending images, graphs and
videos.
All you need is an special IP phone to connect to your
system.
IMPORTANT
VOIP INFO FOR SATELLITE USERS.
If you use VoIP on a satellite system, there will always
be a short delay
because of the latency. Be aware that Voip uses quite a lot of traffic,
so make sure your subscription is high enough (Monthly Volume/Limit).
Voip subscriptions are separate and NOT a part of your Satellite
subscription. |
In most of the cases you need a router to connect the
IP phone to you system (Satellite or ADLS landline).
