Satellite Communications
Satellite
services are used in
locations where a landline (dial-up or ADSL) or terrestrial
(WIFI/WIMAX)
Internet access is not available. Internet access via
satellite is available
worldwide, including vessels at sea.Two-way
satellite Internet service sends data
from remote sites via satellite to a hub, which then
sends the data to the Internet.
Advantages of Satellite Broadband
Can be used almost anywhere, we offer the
widest coverage of any Satellite Broadband service
available. Our service can be used not only where ADSL is
not available, but even where telephone lines can’t reach!
Fast, 2-way connection speeds
Our 2-way technology gives you fast and reliable connection and transfer
speeds both up and down stream. Actual speeds depend on the
package chosen. |

Shared systems
In shared systems, the maximum bit
rates and throughput (Mbytes) limits are associated with how
much you pay, rather than with the choice of technology.
Satellite Systems all offer a range of tariff options from
low bit rates, low Mbytes and low price to high bit rates,
high Mbytes and high price. The idea of the various tariffs
and fair access policies is so that everyone gets what they
pay for.
Always on Connection
No dialing & no waiting to connect. Our service is available
instantly at all times.
Reliability
By utilising the latest technology our solutions provide
incredible reliability.
Software
No need of special software on your computer. You can
connect more than one computer or VoIP phone using a router.
Phone line
No need of a dedicated phone line. The satellite system
looks after both reception and transmission, so works
completely independently of a phone system.
VoIP
If you use VoIP on a satellite system, there will be always a short delay
because of the latency. You need
a subscription providing an upload
of at least 256 Kbps 10:1 shared to get a reasonable quality. Any other bandwidth will work but quality can differ a lot
!
You do require
some type of license since you are operating a 2-way radio
antenna. |
